Two weeks after returning to Nairobi (shortly after getting re-acclimated to the time and place), Phil finds himself on a plane destined for the USA again. Crazy traveling man. 🙂 He has already arrived in the States safely – praise the Lord. He will be there for a week, enjoying the peacefulness of the Cove when he can. Mostly he will be in work meetings, partly in devotions. It is an interesting annual conference where representatives from many of SP’s offices around the world come and tell of what God is doing in their places. It is a time of sharing, learning, encouragement and fellowship. God has been good to work mightily during this conference in the past – we’re praying for His presence and for His hand to be at work again.
Sidenote: We added a prayer page to this blog where we’ll try to add prayer requests and praises. This week you can be praying for Phil as he travels and as he is in a whirlwind of important sessions. The timing is also a bit poor for him, so prayers that our Lord’s presence is ever nearer to Him are appreciated as well.
As for me, I’m missing Phil, but doing just fine. I officially begin serving with Amani Ya Juu this week – a women’s ministy in Nairobi. It’s a lovely place where women in difficult circumstances can come and learn a skill such as sewing which will earn them an income. There is also a strong discipleship culture at Amani where the woman can learn about Jesus, pray and grow spiritually together. It’s truly a blessing to be able to serve there. More on this soon… 😉
