These photos were taken from my hotel window in Yerevan, Armenia. You’ll notice the block style apartments. Grey brown color scheme. Sparse splashes of color with the exception of dangling laundry. Expressions of individual personality are difficult to find from the exterior. Very symbolic of communism. However, with a bit of seeking you’ll find asian tea shops, artful cafes, charming book shops, french music and a variety of lovely people to keep you company. Yerevan is a good reminder to me that we need to be willing to explore to find beauty — there’s plenty to find if you’re willing to seek.
It also reminds me of God’s promise …
“But if you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29
Grateful that God wants us to find Him. May we always be seeking Him, especially when life isn’t beautiful on the exterior.
